We had the rare opportunity to co-create ‘Auana, a one-of-a-kind Cirque du Soleil show in Honolulu. From early concept through production design, branding, and marketing, we helped shape every aspect of its creation. ‘Auana brings Hawaiian myths and legends to life through music, dance, comedy, and acrobatics—blending Cirque’s surreal style with Hawai‘i’s rich cultural heritage. Guided by local cultural advisors, we ensured authenticity informed every detail, from narrative and costumes to set and brand design. The visual identity drew from kapa, a traditional Hawaiian cloth, using its textures and patterns to build a cohesive aesthetic. A rainbow-inspired color palette added energy and cultural depth across the show and campaign. With billboards banned in Waikīkī, we focused on a bold digital and social rollout. A teaser campaign, A New Sun Rising, used sunrise tones and silhouetted visuals to build anticipation—gradually revealing the world of ‘Auana in the lead-up to its premiere
